Review: They Had It Coming

They Had It Coming They Had It Coming by Nikki Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Released: 22nd May 2025

What an addictive read, I was hooked from the first chapter until the last. The story weaves brilliantly with lots of intrigue that keeps you guessing throughout and holds no punches.

If you want a great revenge story, set in the beautiful Bali - then this is for you.
The story of two couples who are friends and the secrets they're all keeping from each other.
The first half of the book sets up the scene and the atmosphere perfectly, but be warned the second half comes at you fast.

I honestly think Nikki Smith just gets better with every book, such an exciting author.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.

Review: By Your Side

By Your Side By Your Side by Ruth Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ruth Jones the queen of the emotional rollercoasters does it again!

This is a wonderfully told story with multiple points of view, with heart joy and sadness - as always Ruth Jones understands people and relationships and portrays them beautifully across generations and this new book is no different.

When Linda in her role at the council’s Unclaimed Heirs Unit has one last case before retiring, takes her on a trip to an island off the coast of Scotland, where her adventures begin and she is absorbed into the life of dead Welsh Man Levi Norman. The story takes you on a journey through different times as well as perspectives.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.

Review: The Serial Killer Support Group

The Serial Killer Support Group The Serial Killer Support Group by D B Stephens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A wonderfully unexpected book, I loved this angle and the twists and turns that came at me, leaving me hooked.

I really wish and hope that this book starts the right conversations about domestic abuse and makes people more aware of what is happening behind closed doors, the isolation of those who suffer at the hands of abusive relationships, without needing to be as drastic as this book.

I felt that this book focused more on the strengths of those being abused without diminishing the horrors they experienced. It is a book of power and support.

This is a fast paced book about revenge with plenty of gore and intrigue.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.
